Westmont Winter Beer Festival Feb. 14

Make plans for one of the highlights of the winter craft-beer scene in Chicagoland, as the 2026 Westmont Winter Beer Festival will again be held in Ty Warner Park in west suburban Westmont. The fest will feature dozens of craft breweries from the Chicagoland area (and even a few from out of state) on Saturday, Feb. 14 from 2-6 p.m. Participants will receive 20 four-ounce pours, and the event will have heated tents, bonfires, outdoor seating and food trucks.

Tickets are $50 for general admission, $65 VIP and $70 at the door. For more information, visit WestmontParks.org/BeerFest

Winterfest at Mikerphone Brewing Jan. 24

This annual event at the popular Mikerphone Brewing in Elk Grove Village runs from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24. (In case you hadn’t heard, they’ll be opening a second taproom in Park Ridge in the coming months.)

Beer and Loathing will provide plenty of rock tunes, food will be served by Greece Smoked Meats, and there will be hot poked beers, s’mores and games. FYI — with seriously cold temps predicted for Saturday, all of the fun is expected to move inside at Mikerphone.

Also worth noting, Mikerphone has converted their original tasting room into a cozy dive bar on Mondays during January and February, where you can play free darts, foosball and shuffleboard while enjoying award-winning beers, Wisconsin-style old fashioneds, Malort, bar snacks and more.

Saint Errant moving into old Temperance space in Evanston

As big fans of Saint Errant for a while now (especially their assortment of hazy IPAs and barrel-aged work), we couldn’t be happier to hear they’ll be moving into the former Temperance space in Evanston later this month. Coincidentally, Temperance (2000 Dempster Street) is one of the several locations Saint Errant has contract brewed over their eight years in business.

Pending food and liquor license approvals from the city of Evanston, ownership has indicated they should be ready to open in March. Look for a spotlight on this new addition to the north suburbs in our upcoming spring issue.
