The last really good beer I drank was…

Pabst Blue Ribbon. Don’t judge. Well, from a craft standpoint, Grass Assassin is one of our summer light beer offerings at Keg Grove that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed. Analytical Brewing in Lexington has a great Mexican lager called Chela that I got to try at a beer fest earlier this summer.

What fellow Illinois breweries and specific beers have impressed you lately?

Living outside of Bloomington/Normal, I’m constantly impressed by the small-town options that surround me. Emancipation Brewing in Fairbury is close to where I live and puts out some great brews, and Evergreen Farm Brewing in Metamora is close to my folks and a must stop if you are in the area. I’ll give a shoutout to a particular Emancipation brew called Plowhorse. Who doesn’t love a good black IPA?

I’m most proud of the culture that we have developed at Keg Grove Brewing Co. We have an inclusive vibe where we make beers for everyone.

What are you most proud of at your brewery?

I’m most proud of the culture that we have developed at Keg Grove Brewing Co. We have an inclusive vibe where we make beers for everyone. We’ve seen great success bringing non-craft beer drinkers into the community, and that is in large part due to our core tenet of approachability and inclusion of all types of drinkers.

What do you have coming up that people should know about?

We just released our first sour, and after some rave reviews, I’m excited to expand that brand. Next up will be our first fruited sour, Flamingo Calves. Stay tuned!
